father & daughter thing

lately, Hailey has taken serious actions to have the same or similiar outfit as her papih. as a mommy proud of  her little princess, am put off!  for the fact that she is a GIRL and what she choose are for BOYS like papih...there is still no room for negotiations - at the moment.

monday blues...

Hailey have been in school for about 2 weeks now. She is not crying anymore, in fact, only did the first 3 days.

This morning as I was dropping her off, she came and asked me for a hug. Well, I normally do before I leave but I was talking to a fellow mommy. She came over to interrupt my chat, as I stood low she held me tight and long. Hmmm...then she walked away suavely. Then I continued with my chat. After while, I could sense from a distance a pair of eyes was watching me. I was right. She looked at me fiercely and told me to 'Go!' As I was leaving, I heard a burst of crying. It was my baby! I didn't see that coming! Well, they all said its normal, kids have monday blues too.

first class on her own!

I am so proud of my booboo! She went into her ballet class on her own today for the very first time! She made it! She has been so excited about this class for days! But a few months ago, she cried when I left her to be with her class...she wants me to be in the class. So I was worried she would want my company. Apparently I understimated my babe! She strutted her way into class. Anxious as I was, I kept checking in on her 5 mins to see if I hear any crying...45 mins went by...suddenly, the room door flew open, amongst the pink little ballerinas came running out my little booboo....ran straight for me and gave me a huge hug! I was so proud of her. My booboo is growing up so fast! Well, her teacher did great too, I realised Hailey had a chocolate in her hand! We need to tallk for next lesson...I don't like chocolates for peace offerings!! Nonetheless, my booboo proved she is ready for the world!

iPad-gen

What can I say except, we are living in a different era! Hailey has been preoccupied with her new ipad2 that came in the mail a week ago. She didn't need to see any manual to arrive at her 'smooth operator' mode. There are tons of interactive educational and play apps I could download for her. I am still trying to set the limits of her indulgent in this technology. So far I see only good behavior since her introduction to the iPad. I can even negotiate for her to bathe or eat trading an hour use of the iPad. She remains calm and collected during her iPad sessions, what more can I say.....so far....I like it too! Cheers to Steve Job....Job well done I say! : )

Just another day...

My 20 month old is at the age where she is trying to change the world while making my world go crazy...She is trying to communicate by yelling and blaberring only what she would understand. And when we don't get her, she would scream and THEN scream again at her lack of words! So many times I FEEL LIKE DOING THE SAME TO HER!! But she is one smart kiddo...the moment she knows she has ruffled my feathers, she would lean on me, give me a tight hug and sometimes, a big smuck on my lips is her ultimate weapon to 'cool mommy down'! She knows where to press my buttons!!

She demands that I stay at sight, play with her, talk to her, stand beside her, dance with her....do all the silly stuff with her! If I refuse or walk away, she would grab me by my butt and sometimes out of desperation, she would give my bum a good bite! She wants me to carry her one second, then put her down then she would change her mind the same second, then scream....then she would climb on our bedroom window walls, rearrange my photo frames! In bad days, she would throw my frames on the floor!! OMG!! She would throw her food on the floor once she is done eating. She would scream if I refuse to let her enter the kitchen. She would scream if i refuse to let her walk in my heels! She fights with her strollers, she wants to walk but she wants to walk like a jello...she wants to sit but she doesnt want to sit on the stroller...she does not really know what she wants actually! All she knows is that she has so much to learn and so little time!

By the end of a scream-ful day, I am exhausted! Lucky me putting her down to sleep is so much easier these days. I guess she uses all her strength in her play in the day. So after a few lullaby songs, (yes, I do sing them to her) she would just fall asleep in my hug. That is the best time of the day.

Even though I know everything will start again in the morning, watching her sound asleep somehow has recharged my unconditional love for my kid. She can try to change the world, but she can never change my love for her. =)

So far so good...

are u sure its safe mommy..??!

pure bliss moment! =)

I am still smelling my daughter now & then. It is a fetish I developed since I gave birth to her about 21 months ago. She has a natural aroma that never fails to bewitch my soul as a mother. Forget about the 15kg baby still demanding for me to carry her! Forget about the mess she makes when she is having her meals. Forget about the cranky night wakes she gets now & then. Her aroma tells me...everything is going to be alright. =)

Just a bit of update, she is turning into toddler sooner than I thought! We just came back from a 10 days trip to downunder visiting Uncle Pete & Aunt Jo...pleasantly surprised I survived the trip without the nanny! It was one of the most tiring days of my life! But also the many moments of pure bliss I have with my baby. I know she is going to grow out of me sonner than expected. At the rate she is going, I know I better spend more time while she still thinks I am cool. Soon enough, like daddy said, Hailey would want her freedom and perhaps - boyfriends! Oh..oh! Major fear of a father.

For now, we just want to spend as much time as we can with her. Have a great weekend!

Strutting butt is in the house!

Hailey has been strutting her diapered butt around the house a lot lately. She can even pick herself up nice & steady. She uses her butt as the gravity 'stabilizer' before pulling the top of her body up! I am gald to be able to witness all the milestones my baby is making! Thank you Mr Limin!! ;p

Another milestone! 08.03.2010

Triumphant laugh after her first steps!

wohhh....mommy!!

mommy...don't forget to catch me k...

i am going to let go of my hand...

Its the last week of my baby being an 'infant'. In a few days she will be graduating to be a toddler. This evening I placed her on our bed. Suddenly she looked cheekily at me, stood up and gave a loud giggle before taking a few little running steps towards me! Before she knew it she threw her self to 'land' safely on me!! It was mind blowing!! I am glad I got to see her first steps!! I am so proud of my girl!

Look mommy!!

Hailey was a trooper today! She braced herself to crawl for the first time! I think I have been too protective of my baby...so she just discovered...'hey! If mommy didnt always grab a hold on me...I could...move on in my life!!' Hahaha! I let her go this morning...and there was no stopping her!!

We learned

I shall never forget the day Hailey wailed. It was yesterday. I felt my heart plunge into the deepest abyss. It was supposed to be a fun day out with Linda & baby katie in town. But it was Hailey's first time out for the whole day. She has always been a short 'tripper'...she doesn't go out for more than 4 hours - max! So I wanted to try.We went out at 12pm...had lunch she did the usual...napped while I carried her, had her millk while I carried her...tried to nap again...couldn't..so I had to carry her - again...By the time we reached takashimaya...she was one moody bub. The baby fair crowd didn't help at all. I should have known. While carrying her, she was staring at me the whole time & frowning while having her pacifier in her mouth. She had her bean pillow too. Those were the necessity to keep my baby calm & collected when we are out. But all hell broke loose by the time I finished shopping at the baby fair. I should have known. I still tried to change her mood by feeding her before her time - milk that wasn't warm enough. (bad mommy!!) My bub knows what she wants. I should have known. I compromised. I decided to take a cab to wherever daddy was to drive us home. By the time we reached daddy, she looked calm & collected. So I decided to drive while daddy held her. 10 minutes away from home, she started mumbling...then sobbing...then crying...then wailing like she was in pain! I have never seen such sadness in my bub! It was an escalated emotion. She was super frustrated. She didn't stop wailing all the way untill we reached her room, had her lullaby on, the aircon on full blast - she was still wailing!! She looked at us super sad with so much tears rolling down her cheeks. I wanted to stop the world! It took us 20-30 mins to calm her down. It was the first she cried like that. Finally, she was at rest. By then it was 7pm. By then, daddy's heart has also sunken like never before. We remember this day. We learn not to take her stares for granted.
